PhD in Sociology (2009), University of Michigan
Teaching Experience:
What types of courses & students have you taught? What do you enjoy about teaching?
I've taught Introduction to Social Research and Marriage and Family in the sociology department. My favorite thing about teaching is writing on the dry erase board!
Career/Research/Other Interests:
What do you want to do when you grow up? What professional or personal/social things do you enjoy?
I plan to pursue a non-academic research career, probably in Washington, DC. I spend most of my free time with my boyfriend and my puppy, both of whom are very cute and very demanding.
Interest in the OLC:
What intrigued you about working on the OLC? Why have you signed up to develop DDLGs?
I liked the idea of bringing data into the classroom in a user-friendly way. As an instructor, I find coming up with good examples to be the hardest part of the job. The OLC makes the process much simpler. I was also excited to be involved in the project from the very beginning--to see it evolve from an idea to a usable product has been great.
