General Help with Quantitative Data

There are many tutorials on other parts of the ICPSR website that you might find helpful in learning to navigate and use the site and the data it contains.

  • The Data Use Tutorial includes detailed information about searching for, accessing, downloading, and analyzing data from ICPSR.

  • The tutorial for using SDA, the online analysis system, walks users through the interface and possible uses of the Survey Documentation and Analysis system.

  • Not all datasets in the ICPSR archive are available for use with the online analysis system. The list of SDA-enabled datasets is helpful in locating data for which analyses can be done using the online Survey Documentation and Analysis tools.

  • Finally, help exists for those who want to download data into SPSS, SAS, or Stata statistical packages in a tutorial on Using Data.
